How to Use This Site

Step by step, you can create a treatment plan that fits your individual situation, using a three-step process: study, plan, act.

  • Study: Investigate treatment options. (We've put them in the center column, just like this text.)

  • Plan: Decide what to try by filling out the worksheets (see the right column on most pages).

  • Act: Turn your plan into reality by taking action. (Our suggestions will be in the right column.)

Putting a plan together and executing it takes time, so think of this site as a resource you can revisit as you work on different parts of your plan. For example, you might start by going through the site from start to finish to get an overview, then return later for planning and implementing.

Alternatively, you might begin by focusing on one area. Then, when you are on track there, you can select a new area to address and go through the steps again. You can repeat this cycle as needed, refining your treatment program and adapting it as your situation changes.

If you find it hard to implement your plan on your own, we suggest you get help. Sources of assistance and support include doctors, other people with CFS/FM, support groups and self-management programs like the one directed by Dr. Campbell.
